At Claridge Care Staffing and Recruitment, we understand the importance of compliance for our customers. We go above and beyond to ensure all our candidates meet your CQC requirements. When a new staff member is assigned to a facility, we provide an A4 care passport that includes their photo, completed mandatory training, DBS number and issue date, and, for nurses, their PIN number and renewal date. All staff also wear ID badges displaying this information while on duty. Below are our standard Safeguarding and Employment checks. For permanent staff, it's the client's responsibility to conduct reference checks, DBS applications, and ensure training is up-to-date. We handle all other checks. We invite client's to review the records we maintain for our staff—just let us know when you’re coming, and we’ll have Cream cakes ready!
Face-to-face interview: Crucial for verifying identity and assessing proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Employment History: We ensure all gaps in employment are explained and documented.
Structured interview: Assesses sector knowledge through competency-based questions on topics like safeguarding, whistle-blowing, COSHH, teamwork, CQC roles, fire safety, and record-keeping. Nurses also face questions on medication administration, risk assessments, and professional negligence.
PIN and Statement of Entry Verification (Nurses only): Verified with the NMC register, with renewal dates recorded to ensure ongoing compliance.
Identity Verification: We collect and verify copies of original documents to confirm the candidate's identity.
Reference Checks: We check at least three years of employment history (five years for those working with children), including references from two separate employers, one of which must be the most recent.
Right To Work: Confirms that the candidate has the legal right to work in the UK.
Mandatory Training: We ensure all mandatory training certificates are current within the last twelve months or provide the necessary training before staff are deployed to customers.
Professional Indemnity Insurance: We ensure that all nurses have a current copy on file.
Enhanced DBS Check: Includes checks against the Children and/or Adults Barred Lists. Once compliance is confirmed, staff participate in Induction Training and receive a comprehensive Staff Handbook detailing our policies and procedures.
Our staff engage in regular supervision meetings for feedback, and annual appraisals are conducted to review training and development needs. During these appraisals, mandatory training is updated, comprehensive health assessments are conducted, and nurses’ PINs and Professional Indemnity Insurance are reverified. If a staff member has not been continuously employed with us for the full year, their employment history is updated and additional references are obtained. Once ongoing compliance is verified, a new annual ID badge is issued, and the staff member’s profile is updated.
